Android Auto might start requiring Android 11 or later soon, driver reports…

Google is reportedly tightening Android Auto’s operating‑system requirements, with user reports indicating that devices running Android 10 may soon lose support. Currently, wireless Auto mandates Android 11 while wired support accepts Android 9 Pie. Notifications warning of imminent shutdown have appeared on phones such as the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9, and Xperia XZ2 Compact. Google has not yet updated its support page, but the trend suggests a move toward a unified, higher‑level OS threshold.

💡 The shift forces owners of mid‑generation phones to upgrade sooner than expected, potentially accelerating the cycle of smartphone replacement and affecting fleet operators who rely on older devices for in‑vehicle connectivity.

iPhone Duo’s small outer screen prompts minimalist Focus Mode update

New iOS 27 beta code reveals a subtle Focus Mode redesign for the iPhone Duo. The lock‑screen button will switch Focus Mode on or off with a single tap, replacing the current wide button that opens settings. The text label will be removed, leaving only the icon. On the unlocked outer screen, the icon moves above the clock, while the clock shifts right to accommodate a repositioned Dock. These tweaks address the Duo’s smaller, squat outer display.

💡 The streamlined lock‑screen control reduces friction for users who rely on quick Focus toggles, potentially setting a precedent for future iPhone models.

Honor’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo rival is reportedly launching…

Honor is set to launch its first wide‑format foldable in January, according to leaks. macOS 27 just fixed the most annoying problem for third-party HDR displays

Apple’s macOS 27 Golden Gate resolves a long‑standing issue with third‑party HDR displays. In macOS 26 Tahoe, users could enable HDR only at 1920 × 1080, forcing a trade‑off between resolution and HDR. The new release allows HDR to be activated while selecting scaled resolutions such as 2560 × 1440, improving image quality on displays like Dell’s 32‑inch UltraSharp U3226Q. The fix is native, requiring no third‑party software, though some hardware models may still lack full support.

💡 The update unlocks true HDR performance for a growing market of external monitors, giving professionals and enthusiasts a practical, software‑only solution to enhance visual fidelity on non‑Apple screens.
