Ubisoft Will Reportedly Try Relaunching Watch Dogs: Legion With a Director’s Cut

Ubisoft plans to relaunch Watch Dogs: Legion next year with a Director’s Cut, according to Insider Gaming and IGN. The 2020 title received mixed reviews and has since stalled, with no new mainline entry in development. The Director’s Cut is expected to include earlier DLC content, such as Aiden Pearce, Wrench, and the Assassin’s Creed crossover, and may shift focus back to recognizable characters rather than the original open‑world “any NPC” mechanic. Creative director Clint Hocking departed Ubisoft earlier this year, and the franchise remains a priority for the company’s future.

I’d buy this ultra-fast 2TB SSD for Gears of War: E-Day while…

Gears of War: E‑Day launched today on Xbox and PC, demanding a 115 GB install that strains many gamers’ storage. Coinciding with the release, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days slashed the price of Samsung’s 9100 Pro 2 TB PCIe 5.0 SSD from $679.97 to $349.99, making the high‑speed drive more accessible for PC players. The SSD boasts 14,700 MB/s read and 13,400 MB/s write speeds, with random performance up to 2.6 M IOPS, and fits any M.2 2280 NVMe slot. While still above its original $299.99 MSRP, the discount is notable amid a broader tech price surge driven by a RAM shortage. The sale also includes lower‑capacity 1 TB and larger 4 TB models, as well as the cheaper Samsung 990 1 TB SSD.

💡 The timing gives gamers a rare chance to pair a massive new title with ultra‑fast storage before prices potentially climb permanently.

Ex-PlayStation boss says Sony killing discs raises the “insidious” discussion of game…

Former Sony Interactive Entertainment chairman Shawn Layden criticized the company’s decision to eliminate physical discs, arguing that the 20% of consumers who still purchase games in physical form represent a vital segment of dedicated collectors. Layden highlighted that disc ownership changes the nature of game ownership, shifting it from owning a tangible product to merely accessing a digital asset. He expressed concern that this shift could damage Sony’s brand and influence competitors, while noting that Sony’s financial motivations remain unclear.

💡 The move threatens to alienate a loyal collector base that fuels high‑margin sales, potentially reshaping the industry’s approach to physical media.
