Wizards of the Coast’s Marvel‑themed Magic: The Gathering set “Darkhold Destiny” is now purchasable, but availability is limited to Amazon and TCGPlayer. Both sites list the four Commander decks—Strange Academy, Midnight Sons, Gods of Asgard, and Lords of Hel—at $74.99 on Amazon versus roughly $100 on TCGPlayer, with the Collector’s Edition decks priced at $280 on TCGPlayer and a $639.96 bundle on Amazon. Booster options include a Play Booster Box for $209.70 on Amazon and $230 on TCGPlayer, while the Collector Booster Box is $750 on TCGPlayer only. Bundles range from a $69.99 Amazon bundle to a $200 Arcanum Bundle on TCGPlayer. The set launches on April 9, 2027, though some items, such as the Arcanum Bundle, are slated for later release. Prices on TCGPlayer appear inflated, prompting the author to recommend Amazon for most purchases.

💡 Why It Matters

· Early‑access pricing disparities give savvy collectors a clear cost‑saving path, while the limited retail rollout underscores the set’s high demand and potential resale frenzy.

Big Walk Developer Explains Why the Game Isn’t on Xbox

Australian studio House House announced that its co‑op puzzle game Big Walk will not launch on Xbox Series X/S. The decision follows the studio’s support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which lists Microsoft and Xbox as priority targets. Big Walk debuted on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, receiving a 91 Metacritic score and a 9/10 IGN review. House House stated it will release the title on Xbox only once Microsoft is removed from the BDS list.

💡 The move underscores how geopolitical activism is reshaping platform availability, forcing developers to weigh ethical commitments against market reach. It signals a growing trend of political pressure influencing the gaming ecosystem.

Skip the controller, the Apple TV 4K still isn’t a good gaming…

Apple released the 4th‑generation Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip, 128 GB storage, and continued controller support, promising improved gaming performance. However, the device remains limited to 4K at 60 fps, lacks Just‑In‑Time compilation, and offers insufficient storage for modern titles. Its $299 price point and absence of variable refresh rates make it unattractive to core gamers. Consequently, the Apple TV 4K is better suited as a streaming box than a serious gaming platform.

💡 The Apple TV 4K’s shortcomings reveal that Apple’s push into console‑style gaming is superficial, underscoring the company’s focus on its mobile ecosystem rather than competing with dedicated gaming hardware.

Blue Team Only Wins 15% of Its Wardogs Games — We Asked…

In the sandbox shooter Wardogs, the Blue Team (Lonestar) has historically struggled, winning only about 10% of matches during the “Blue Team bad” meme. Recent community efforts have raised its win rate to roughly 15%, though Red and Green still dominate at 36% and 49% respectively. Developers attribute the disparity to early alpha spawn advantages and player migration, and plan to relocate spawns on the Bakuriani map in Season 2 to level the field. The game’s color psychology has also been examined, though no definitive link to performance has emerged.

💡 The Blue Team’s low win rate illustrates how early design choices and community perception can shape competitive balance in live‑service games. Adjusting spawn locations and addressing meme‑driven biases may help developers create a fairer, more engaging experience for all players.

Devious Arc Raiders Griefers Are Having Fun in PvE, Camping Locked Loot…

Embark’s experimental PvE mode in Arc Raiders has sparked widespread griefing, with players camping locked loot rooms, using Bull Rush to block extractions, and deploying lure grenades to funnel enemy robots into extraction points. These tactics allow raiders to claim loot without facing retaliation, undermining the intended cooperative experience. The mode, launched alongside a major update that revived player interest, has attracted criticism for its lack of punitive measures and for encouraging exploitative behavior that mirrors past PvP controversies.

💡 The unchecked griefing threatens to erode community trust and could prompt a reevaluation of PvE design, forcing developers to balance accessibility with safeguards against abuse.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake features a new mechanic that should hopefully…

Nintendo announced a new “Fairy Notes” mechanic for the Ocarina of Time remake, adding collectible in‑world items that trigger Navi to provide hints. The remake will largely mirror the N64 original, featuring full voice‑acted cutscenes, a boss rematch mode, and new movement options like jump and dash. Fairy Notes appear as fairy drawings across Hyrule, offering tips such as shaking trees for items. The feature aims to reduce Navi’s constant chatter while rewarding completionists with additional secrets.

💡 By shifting hints to collectible notes, Nintendo addresses a long‑standing player complaint, potentially improving the game’s pacing and replay value. This change could set a new standard for companion dialogue in future titles.
