Xbox leader Asha Sharma says there’s “more demand than consoles available” as…

Xbox division chief Asha Sharma announced that demand for Xbox consoles exceeds supply, citing a 14 % year‑over‑year drop in hardware sales amid a 2 % decline in overall Xbox revenue. Microsoft’s quarterly report highlighted record performance for Minecraft and World of Warcraft: Forever, while noting that first‑party game growth offset declines in third‑party titles and Game Pass. Microsoft is killing Copilot for smart TVs this year

LG announced that Microsoft will discontinue Copilot support on all smart TVs before the end of 2026. The AI companion, previously installed on LG and Samsung models, could answer questions about on‑screen content and recommend shows. Microsoft’s shift toward business‑focused Copilot and the merger of its consumer and 365 versions have made the TV feature redundant. The exact end‑of‑support date remains unconfirmed, but the move signals a retreat from consumer‑facing AI on televisions.

💡 The decision underscores Microsoft’s pivot away from consumer AI tools toward enterprise productivity, reshaping expectations for AI integration in everyday devices.

Windows 11’s faster, customizable right-click menu released, enable it right now using…

Windows 11’s new right‑click context menu is now available through the October 2026 optional update KB5127936. The menu opens instantly, removes clutter, and lets users customize which app extensions appear. Microsoft is rolling it out gradually, so the update alone may not activate the feature immediately. Users can enable the menu with ViVeTool, a command‑line utility that forces the new context menu on supported builds. The update targets Windows 11 25H2 and 26H2 builds 26200.9818 and 26300.9818.

💡 The faster, cleaner context menu directly addresses long‑standing user complaints about sluggishness and overload from third‑party extensions, improving daily productivity on Windows 11.

Asha Sharma Insists There’s ‘More Demand Than Consoles Available’ as Xbox Hardware…

Xbox chief Asha Sharma told investors that the console’s weak hardware sales are a supply‑side issue, not a lack of demand, as Microsoft posted its FY27 Q1 results. Revenue from the Xbox division fell 2% year‑on‑year to $5.379 billion, with hardware sales down 14% and content and services revenue slipping 2% and 1% respectively in constant currency. The decline follows a 10% hardware drop the prior quarter, despite a “reset” of the gaming business that included staff cuts and studio closures. Sharma highlighted an improved “accountability margin” and noted that PC revenue grew double‑digits, while major titles such as Gears of War: E‑Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, World of Warcraft: Forever and the upcoming GTA 6 are slated to boost Q2 results. She said Microsoft is expanding a console refurbishment program to address the shortage, which has been exacerbated by component scarcity driven by AI‑related demand.

💡 The shortage threatens Microsoft’s ability to capitalize on blockbuster releases, putting its console comeback at risk despite a healthier profit margin.

Researcher Reveals How Logic Bugs Alone Cracked Microsoft Edge in $175,000 Pwn2Own…

A security researcher demonstrated that a series of logic flaws in Microsoft Edge could allow a malicious web page to escape the browser sandbox and run code on a Windows system, without any memory corruption. The exploit, built in under 100 lines, was showcased at the Pwn2Own Berlin contest, where it earned a $175,000 prize. Microsoft patched the vulnerabilities the day after the contest, and the fixed Edge version is already available to users. The chain reveals a new attack surface for cross‑site scripting.

💡 The discovery shows that even non‑memory bugs can provide full system control, expanding the threat landscape beyond traditional exploits. It underscores the need for continuous, human‑driven security research to uncover hidden weaknesses.
