Apple began distributing release‑candidate (RC) builds of iPadOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2 and additional updates, signaling that the final public rollout is imminent. The company has limited the interim 27.1 update to iPhone Duo devices, causing most iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Vision Pro headsets to skip directly to the 27.2 series. RC versions are intended to match the software that will ship to consumers, and while Apple sometimes issues a second RC to address newly discovered bugs, any subsequent changes are usually minor. Analysts expect the full public release of iPadOS 27.2 and its companion OS updates by the end of October, likely early next week, after final testing of the candidate builds.
