Virtual Cells Built from 4D AI Models and “Digital Twins” Could Speed Up Drug Discovery
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego have created two complementary digital models of human cells that capture mitochondrial dynamics in four dimensions. Using high‑resolution 4D imaging, they built a deep‑learning system called MitoSpace and a physics‑based “digital twin” that reconstruct the constantly reshaping mitochondrial network.
