Moto Tag 2 is no longer $19.99 as the UWB tracker gears…

Motorola’s Moto Tag 2, once discounted to $20, has reverted to its intended $29.99 price on both the company’s site and Amazon. The tracker, notable for its UWB capability, offers precise location fixes beyond standard Bluetooth pings, making it the most advanced Android Find Hub device. Competitors like Pebblebee and Chipolo cost $35–$40 but lack UWB. A 4‑pack remains available for $100, while Google’s upcoming Pixel Tag will debut at the same price, setting a direct price contest.

💡 The price reset signals a tightening market for UWB‑enabled trackers, forcing consumers to weigh early‑bird discounts against long‑term value. It also positions Moto and Google as direct rivals, potentially accelerating feature and price innovation in the Android tracking ecosystem.

Samsung reportedly hasn’t finalized Galaxy S27 details, considers February launch

Samsung has not yet confirmed a launch date for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra, with leaks suggesting a February release at the latest. The delay stems from unresolved component decisions, particularly the memory configuration and potential adoption of UFS 5.0 and LPDDR6. While the base and Plus models appear finalized, the high‑end devices remain undecided. Samsung’s typical release cadence—January or February following CES—remains intact, but the exact timing is still pending.

💡 The postponement underscores Samsung’s push to integrate cutting‑edge storage and memory, potentially raising the flagship’s performance ceiling and price point.

Android Auto ‘Work Account’ support would allow for easy switching in work…

Google’s Android Auto may soon support Work Accounts, a feature uncovered in a leaked build (18.0.664204) that adds a briefcase icon to the Quick Settings tile. Work Accounts, already used on Android phones to separate personal and corporate data, would let drivers enable a distinct set of apps while in a work vehicle, preventing personal apps from running. The test version, reported by Android Authority, shows the toggle but is not fully functional, indicating the capability is still under development. If released, the functionality would let users switch between personal and business profiles without leaving the car, addressing a long‑standing gap in Android Auto’s enterprise usability. It would simplify compliance reporting and cut the need for extra fleet infotainment hardware.

💡 Enterprises can finally keep driver distraction low while enforcing corporate app policies, turning company cars into secure, productivity‑focused workstations.

Google is linking your phone number to accounts you wanted to keep…

Google has enabled a default‑on feature that automatically verifies and links the phone number stored on an Android device to every Google account signed in on that device, including secondary work accounts and alternate profiles. The setting, found under Settings → Google → All services → Phone number verification, allows Google and carriers to periodically re‑verify numbers for services such as account recovery, RCS messaging, emergency features and Quick Share. Users discovered the behavior after receiving unexpected verification emails from noreply‑phone‑verification@google.com, prompting complaints on Reddit about loss of separation between personal, work and disposable accounts. The option can be turned off, but it may revert on its own and does not remove existing links; users must manually delete the number from each unwanted account via the Personal Info page. Google has not explained the change or indicated plans to modify it.

💡 Automatic cross‑linking erodes the practical privacy barrier many users rely on to keep work and personal data distinct, exposing them to unintended data sharing across accounts.

Galaxy S27 reportedly skips Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 due to…

Samsung is reportedly reconsidering the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 for its upcoming Galaxy S27 line after internal tests flagged overheating concerns. Sources cited by Seoul Economic Daily say Samsung has alerted Qualcomm to the thermal issue and is evaluating its in‑house Exynos 2700 as a fallback, weighing performance stability against production schedules. Qualcomm, which unveiled the 2 nm chipset in September with claimed 13 % CPU, 44 % GPU and AI gains, disputes the report, calling it inaccurate in a statement to 9to5Google. The chip already powers a few early‑stage devices, such as Motorola’s US‑bound Signature 27, but Samsung’s decision could determine whether the S27 series ships with Snapdragon or an updated Exynos processor. Analysts note that a switch could affect Samsung’s supply chain timing and its market positioning against rivals in key regions this year.

💡 A forced move to Exynos would test Samsung’s ability to deliver flagship performance on its own silicon while meeting tight launch deadlines.

Galaxy S26 Ultra is one of the ‘best inventions of 2026’ thanks…

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra has been highlighted by Time as one of 2026’s best inventions, chiefly for its integrated Privacy Display. Unlike traditional anti‑glare coatings, the new panel can selectively obscure content from side‑angle viewers, eliminating the need for external privacy screen protectors. The technology can mask specific screen zones, such as PIN entry fields or notification bars, while keeping the rest of the display clear. Samsung’s senior vice‑president of mobile product management described the feature as “flexible,” noting its ability to adapt to different usage scenarios. Reviewers praised the innovation but flagged occasional inconsistencies in bright lighting and occasional color shifts. Rumors suggest the upcoming Galaxy S27 series may continue the privacy‑first approach, with a launch slated for early next year.

💡 By embedding privacy controls directly into the display, Samsung shifts the burden of data protection from accessories to the device itself, setting a new standard for mobile screen security.
