Dawn of War 4 may be the most generous RTS I’ve played

Dawn of War 4 introduces a “skip mission” feature that lets players bypass difficult or uninteresting segments, reflecting the developers’ focus on player enjoyment over linear progression. The campaign spans four factions, each with multiple branching paths that effectively double the content, and the game’s narrative weaves together the planet Kronus’s lore. Skirmish mode offers extensive customization, with dozens of adjustable settings for unit stats, economy, and combat. How to find the Phantom Blade Zero Cell Key and open the…

In Phantom Blade Zero, the first collectible is the Cell Key, found near the Weeping Creek Valley outpost. Players locate it by passing the Forge, crossing the Outpost Bell, and entering a shrine‑lit doorway. From there, a rightward path leads to a wooden shack; inside, a dead NPC’s body hides the key. Using it unlocks a nearby jail cell, yielding a Blackstone Fragment. Four fragments combine to raise Attack and Guard Break by 10%, offering a modest but permanent stat boost.

💡 The fragment’s 10% stat increase can noticeably improve combat performance, making the seemingly minor side quest a worthwhile detour for players seeking a competitive edge.

BioWare Co-Founder Speaks Out on Studio Closure, Mass Effect Cancellation

BioWare co‑founder Greg Zeschuk announced the studio’s closure, which cut 50 jobs and 400 total positions, and confirmed the cancellation of Mass Effect 5, now revealed as “Mass Effect: Universe.” Zeschuk reflected on his emotional farewell, noting his departure in 2012 and his current focus on a beer‑brewing business. He criticized the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s $55 million buyout of EA, arguing it shifted the company toward annual sports titles and away from long‑form RPGs. The announcement sparked strong reactions from fans, journalists, and industry insiders.

💡 The shutdown signals a broader shift in the gaming industry toward short‑term, high‑margin projects, undermining the viability of complex, narrative‑driven titles. It also highlights the tension between corporate ownership and creative autonomy in game development.
