Musk taunts Ambani over Starlink’s entry into India

Elon Musk intensified his public criticism of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani on X, dubbing him “Prime Minister Ambani” and accusing him of blocking Starlink’s entry into India to preserve a monopoly. Musk argued that SpaceX’s satellite‑internet service could bring reliable connectivity to underserved regions, improve education, support small businesses, and aid disaster response. He claimed Starlink had spent five years complying with Indian regulations, yet faced obstruction from unnamed “oligarchs.” India’s telecom minister rejected Musk’s allegations, stating the regulatory framework is fair, non‑discriminatory, and that no monopolies are permitted. Starlink is one of three satellite operators licensed in India, alongside Eutelsat OneWeb and Reliance’s Jio Satellite Communications, pending security clearances before commercial rollout.

💡 The dispute spotlights the clash between global tech firms and entrenched domestic conglomerates over control of a market poised to bridge India’s digital divide.

Elon Musk’s surprise addition to the X Takeover lineup has fans talking

Elon Musk will appear via a live virtual interview at the X Takeover event on Saturday at Tesla’s Giga Texas facility, announced by organizer Sawyer Merritt on Thursday. The interview will stream for free on the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley X account and will not involve Musk physically on the Austin stage. This marks the first X Takeover held outside California and the first hosted at a Tesla plant, with tickets sold out in eight days. The day‑long program includes keynote speaker Maye Musk, a virtual keynote by chief designer Franz von Holzhausen, special guest Nicki Minaj, and drone‑footage presenter Joe Tegtmeyer. The event follows a surprise hour‑long interview Musk gave in San Luis Obispo earlier this year and coincides with a recent doubling of the Cybercab fleet in Austin, now 319 registered units.

💡 The virtual interview gives Musk an unscripted platform to address pressing topics—such as Cybercab certification deadlines—while the event’s unprecedented location underscores Tesla’s strategy to showcase its manufacturing hub as a brand‑building stage.
