Jason Sudeikis told listeners of the “Talk Easy” podcast that a fifth season of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” remains uncertain, and no writers’ room has been assembled yet. He hinted at a possible sixth season but emphasized that the decision still hinges on behind‑the‑scenes negotiations and the show’s creative direction. Sudeikis recalled earlier reports that he envisioned a three‑season arc beyond season 4, and he expressed personal enthusiasm for continuing the series. The actor noted that while “Ted Lasso” stayed the platform’s top‑viewed comedy during its fourth run, it did not match the viewership peaks of season 3. Apple has not issued an official renewal, leaving fans awaiting confirmation.

Some iPhone Duo orders getting moved up to earlier dates

Apple opened pre‑orders for the iPhone Duo last Friday, but demand quickly pushed the rollout into late January 2027. Over the weekend, a cluster of Japanese customers reported that Apple’s shipping estimates were revised upward, moving delivery dates from December to as early as October 23. Screenshots shared on social media and compiled by 9to5Mac’s Dylan McDonald show several orders being advanced by weeks, a change that so far appears limited to devices purchased directly from Apple’s online store. Apple has not commented on the cause of the adjustment, and it remains unclear whether the earlier dates will be applied to other regions or if the updates are temporary errors. The phenomenon highlights an unexpected shift in Apple’s supply‑chain scheduling for its newest handset.

💡 Japanese buyers are seeing their iPhone Duo in hand months sooner, suggesting Apple may have untapped inventory or a faster‑than‑expected production ramp that could reshape global rollout expectations.

Apple is right about the wild west of AI, and the growing…

Apple’s senior marketing executive Greg Joswiak labeled the most aggressive AI developers “the lunatic fringe” of Silicon Valley, positioning Apple as a counterweight to a mounting backlash against unchecked AI advancement. While rivals pour billions into cutting‑edge models, Apple has kept its AI efforts modest, focusing on privacy‑centric features for everyday users. Joswiak argued that this restraint makes Apple valuable as public concern grows over AI’s societal risks, including massive job displacement in sectors such as trucking, marketing and software development. The article warns that AI could deter future generations from pursuing mathematics and scientific research, potentially leaving breakthroughs without human interpretation. It suggests that Apple’s slower, privacy‑first approach may help temper the “wild west” of AI, though its capacity to influence broader regulation remains uncertain.

💡 Apple’s stance could shape consumer expectations for responsible AI, forcing competitors to prioritize privacy and ethical safeguards.

Check your iPhone Duo shipment date, it may have moved up

Apple’s iPhone Duo pre‑orders sold out within minutes, prompting delivery estimates that initially stretched to late January. Recent posts on X suggest some customers, particularly in Japan, now see shipment dates as early as October 22, which would deliver on the device’s launch day, October 23. The earlier dates appear linked to T‑Mobile’s inventory rather than Apple’s, and several users have reported the change after ordering on the Monday following release. Gizmodo’s Ray Wong notes a surge of similar claims, though an Apple representative allegedly called the listings a system error. Analysts caution buyers to verify their order status, as the apparent acceleration may be isolated or corrected later. If confirmed, the shift could reshape expectations for future demand launches.

💡 An unexpectedly early delivery window hints that carriers can bypass Apple’s typical supply bottlenecks, giving savvy buyers a shortcut to the newest hardware.

Car Keys in Apple Wallet coming soon to three popular vehicle brands

General Motors announced that its Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC lineups will support Apple Wallet digital car keys, extending the feature first referenced by Apple in June 2025. The rollout began with a limited release in late September, will broaden throughout October, and aims to cover all listed models by December, making it one of the widest recent expansions of the technology. Supported vehicles include the 2025 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Yukon and several other 2025‑2026 models, with additional GM models slated for future updates. Owners will receive notifications via the ‘What’s New’ tab in the vehicle’s companion app when their car becomes compatible. GM says the program will continue to grow across its portfolio through 2027 and beyond globally.

💡 By embedding keys in a ubiquitous smartphone wallet, GM accelerates the shift toward frictionless vehicle access, positioning its brands at the forefront of mobile‑first mobility.

Jason Sudeikis holds out hope for more ‘Ted Lasso’

Jason Sudeikis, co‑creator and star of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso,” told the “Talk Easy with Sam Frogoso” podcast that he hopes the series will continue beyond its fourth season, though no writers’ room has been assembled yet. He assumes Apple TV+ shares his enthusiasm, noting the platform’s habit of ordering two seasons at a time for contractual reasons. Season 4 reportedly amassed close to 300 million U.S. viewing minutes in its first 48 hours, bolstering the odds of a fifth season despite earlier production delays and “come‑to‑Jesus” Zoom calls between the crew and Apple. Sudeikis previously aimed to launch a writers’ room for a fifth and possibly sixth season by August, but no progress has been confirmed, and he may now be contractually silent on the matter.

💡 The show’s renewal hinges on Apple’s willingness to stay hands‑off, meaning its future could set a precedent for how streaming giants manage high‑profile, yet production‑troubled, flagship series.
