New Ratchet & Clank Game Canceled Prior to Release
AI-summarised brief · reviewed before publication
Insomniac Games’ mobile spin‑off, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, has been cancelled before a worldwide launch. Oh Bibi Studios announced the end of development and support, with the title remaining available only to existing players until its servers shut down on May 1, 2027. The game will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on November 21, 2026, and all in‑app purchases will be disabled. Existing players can still access multiplayer, Qwark Pass seasons, and earned cosmetics until the servers close.
💡 Why It Matters
- · The cancellation underscores the risks of soft‑launch strategies for established franchises, revealing how even high‑profile IPs can falter in the mobile market.
- · It also signals a shift in Sony’s approach to cross‑platform expansion, prioritizing core console experiences over peripheral mobile ventures.
