Miyamoto also teased a winter update for the mobile AR title Pikmin Bloom, adding “Secret Caves” where players collect maps and battle creatures for items such as a rubber duck and a chef’s hat. Actress Fuka Koshiba appeared to help promote the franchise’s growing fan engagement.

💡 Why It Matters

Bungie Says ‘Don’t Buy Marathon as a Donation’ as Destiny Players Look…

Bungie product lead Josh Deane issued a clarification after a community Q&A suggested players should buy the studio’s new extraction shooter Marathon as a “donation” to support its future. The post, which also detailed upcoming Destiny 2 unvaulting, contained language implying Marathon’s rapid evolution was essential for the company’s long‑term health, sparking backlash from Destiny fans who feared the franchise’s survival depended on Marathon sales. Deane later posted on X, admitting the wording was a mistranslation and emphasizing that neither Destiny nor Marathon’s success is contingent on the other. He urged players to purchase only what they enjoy, reaffirmed ongoing Destiny updates—including “Legacy” content and a still‑secret project—and confirmed Marathon will receive a December “Symbiosis” update and further mode experiments soon.

💡 By untangling the miscommunication, Bungie aims to preserve trust across two divergent player bases, preventing a split that could erode support for both its flagship shooter and its fledgling extraction title.
