An officially licensed Knightmare game, based on the British TV show, is…

An officially licensed free point‑and‑click adventure based on ITV’s cult children’s series Knightmare is slated for a PC release next year to commemorate the show’s 40th anniversary. The game is being developed by writer‑designer Ewen Watson’s team with full endorsement from creator Tim Child, and it will feature the original voice cast, including Hugo Myatt as Treguard and Mark Knight as Lord Fear. All artwork is hand‑drawn, and the developers emphasize that every visual and audio element is created by humans. The life‑force meter from the TV format has been removed to allow leisurely exploration. Watson estimates the short adventure will take roughly two hours to complete, and because it is free‑to‑play, no console ports are planned for fans everywhere worldwide.

💡 Reviving Knightmare as a free PC adventure taps nostalgic millennial demand while showcasing hand‑crafted art, proving that legacy TV properties can find new life without commercial pressure.

Mass Effect Leaks Reveal Canceled BioWare Game’s Story Would Have Accounted for…

Leaked information from former BioWare technical director Romain Toutain revealed that the cancelled project, titled Mass Effect: Universe, would have integrated every decision made across the original Commander Shepard trilogy. The system was designed to import player saves, generating timelines and allowing choices to be resolved through a validation engine. Toutain compared the branching to Spike Chunsoft’s Zero Time Dilemma and hinted at mechanics similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Keep tool. The ambitious tech aimed to keep the game, letting players pause and query the system for narrative consistency. EA’s shutdown of BioWare ended development, sparking a #SaveMassEffect petition that has amassed 185,000 signatures. Additional leaks include a trailer, freedom, and confirmation that the Prime Video series remains in development.

💡 By promising a true multiverse where every past decision reshapes the narrative, the cancelled game showed BioWare’s intent to redefine player agency, a feat few franchises have attempted at scale.

The Witcher star Doug Cockle recorded all of Geralt’s lines for the…

Doug Cockle, the voice behind Geralt of Rivia, recorded every line for the original 2007 Witcher RPG in just eight days, working five consecutive days of six‑to‑seven‑hour sessions. He landed the role after a single audition and entered the booth without access to Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, which were not yet translated into English. Cockle kept his low, husky register by drinking peppermint or ginger‑lemon tea after each marathon day. The performance defined Geralt’s sound for the franchise, and Cockle has been confirmed to return for the upcoming Witcher 4, slated for a tentative 2028 release. CD Projekt Red emphasized Geralt’s enduring importance to the series, even when he is not the central focus.

💡 Cockle’s marathon recording set a benchmark for voice‑acting efficiency that shaped the character’s iconic identity, anchoring the series’ long‑term narrative continuity.

Call of Duty movie will explore the “cost of war”, says director

Director Peter Berg says the upcoming “Call of Duty” film will focus on the “cost of war” rather than pure spectacle, drawing on the Modern Warfare series’ deeper themes. Working from a Taylor Sheridan script, Berg describes iconic characters such as Captain Price, Soap, Ghost and Alex as “complicated humans” with real souls beneath the violence. He contrasts the movie’s tone with his own Netflix war drama “The Mosquito Bowl,” which will be more graphically intense. The “Call of Duty” picture is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 30 June 2028, while “The Mosquito Bowl” debuts on Netflix on 25 November. Berg’s comments aim to position the franchise film as a character‑driven, consequential war story rather than a simple shooter adaptation.

💡 By framing a blockbuster franchise as a serious drama, the film could reshape audience expectations for video‑game adaptations and attract viewers beyond the core gaming fanbase.

187K+ fans call for EA to “Save Mass Effect”

A Change.org petition to “save Mass Effect” has amassed more than 187,000 signatures after Electronic Arts announced the shutdown of BioWare, the studio behind the acclaimed sci‑fi RPG franchise. The closure follows a $55 billion Saudi‑backed leveraged buyout of EA and a wave of layoffs that hit BioWare and other EA studios such as Respawn, Maxis and EA Motive. Petition organizer Joe Smith is not demanding BioWare’s reinstatement but urges EA to fund, staff and allocate time for continued Mass Effect development, or to license the IP to another studio that shares its vision. The campaign cites the franchise’s deep player investment, its role in narrative‑driven gaming, and the recent leak of an internal trailer for the cancelled “Mass Effect Universe” project as evidence of unfinished work.

💡 Fan mobilization shows that a single narrative‑driven IP can become a cultural touchstone, pressuring corporations to preserve creative legacies beyond pure profit calculations.
