Rockstar HR manager claims he had “little interest” in staff’s union membership…

Rockstar Games’ HR manager Charlie Kinloch testified at the Glasgow Tribunals Centre that he had “little interest” in union‑membership information sent by an anonymous employee, a statement made as the company faces a lawsuit from 31 former Grand Theft Auto 6 developers represented by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain. The claimants allege they were dismissed for union activity after a wave of layoffs targeting Discord members discussing organising, leaflets and workplace complaints. Rockstar counters that the terminations resulted from gross misconduct and leaks of confidential material that could damage the GTA 6 launch. Kinloch’s shifting answers about his knowledge of union members and his focus on “disparagement” versus “security risks” are under cross‑examination, intensifying ongoing legal battle court over union‑busting.

💡 The testimony spotlights how corporate narratives around “security” can be used to justify dismissals that unions claim are anti‑organising, potentially reshaping labor protections in the UK gaming sector.
