How to send photos as email attachments on the iPhone

Apple’s iOS 14 update removed the ability to send photos as separate attachments in the native Mail app, converting any email with added formatting into HTML and embedding images directly. The change forces users to find workarounds to keep photos as attachments. Common solutions include using third‑party email clients like Microsoft Outlook, which can be set as the default in iOS 18, or employing shortcuts to zip photos before emailing. Users can also convert images to PDF via the print function or share them through iCloud links, each method preserving the original files as attachments.

💡 The shift limits native email flexibility, pushing users toward alternative apps or manual steps to maintain attachment integrity.

Apple to tighten Mac data controls against AI agents and third-party apps

Apple announced new privacy controls for Mac users, tightening the process for granting “Full Disk Access” to third‑party apps, including AI agents. The company said the updated controls will require explicit user action before an app can obtain full access to system files, mail, messages, and browsing history. Apple warned that the risks of broad data access will grow as AI agents become more capable and autonomous, citing concerns that some developers misuse Full Disk Access without users’ full understanding. The move follows a surge in AI agent usage, with OpenAI’s tools now used by over 35 million people.

💡 By demanding clearer user consent, Apple shifts the balance of power in favor of privacy, forcing developers to justify every data request. This change could reshape how AI tools integrate with macOS, potentially limiting the functionality of popular agents that rely on deep system access.
