AI-summarised brief · reviewed before publication

Love and Deepspace, the developer of the RPG‑dating sim Love and Deepspace, posted five fictional “Shimmering Blend” cocktail recipes on September 28 as part of an in‑game event. Each drink was themed after a romanceable character and featured striking garnishes such as datura and flame lily. Both plants are highly toxic; datura can cause delirium, fever and hallucinations, while flame lily contains colchicine, which can induce vomiting, diarrhea and lethal hypovolemic shock. Fans quickly flagged the recipes as dangerous, urging the studio to remove them. The studio responded on September 30 with a safety notice warning players not to recreate the drinks. The controversy also sparked a fan‑driven campaign honoring a cancelled character, Valko, including shrine‑building and protests outside the developer’s offices.

💡 Why It Matters

· The episode shows how immersive game content can translate into real‑world safety risks, forcing creators to scrutinize fictional details before public release.

Warlock devs eventually realized that “too powerful” D&D spells were the perfect…

Warlock, an upcoming open‑world action‑adventure from Invoke Studios, is redefining Dungeons & Dragons gameplay by embracing initially “too powerful” spells as a core design principle. The team deliberately kept spells over‑powered to create fun, then balanced them, allowing players to chain melee and spell combos in real time. Spell casting uses button combinations rather than a static list, with new abilities unlocking rapidly as the character progresses. The approach promises a dynamic, controller‑friendly magic system distinct from Baldur’s Gate 3.

💡 By turning raw power into a balanced, combo‑driven mechanic, Warlock offers a fresh, fast‑paced D&D experience that could shift expectations for future tabletop‑inspired titles.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 boss hopes GTA 6 pushes game prices up…

Warhorse Studios co‑founder Martin Klima expressed hope that Rockstar’s upcoming GTA 6 will set a new pricing benchmark for the industry. He argues that rising development costs and a shrinking core buyer base, combined with the loss of retail intermediaries, force studios to consider higher unit prices instead of microtransactions. Klima believes only large publishers like Take‑Two can afford such a shift and wishes them success. GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November, with a Standard Edition priced at $79.99 in the U.S.

💡 If GTA 6 succeeds at a higher price point, it could validate a costly‑game model that may reshape how studios fund future titles.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation lead says he pushed Square Enix for a…

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding entry of Square Enix’s remake trilogy, launches on April 8 with a physical disc that contains only the game’s opening segment. Players must connect online to download the remainder, making the disc a “key” rather than a complete copy. Director Naoki Hamaguchi, who grew up collecting physical games, fought internally to secure any disc release, arguing that physical media still holds value despite industry trends toward disc‑less distribution. He acknowledges that the decision on packaging, pricing and SKU strategy rests with the publishing team, not the development side. Hamaguchi also predicts a near‑future where physical boxes might hold only a code or paper key, reflecting broader shifts as PlayStation plans to cease disc production by 2028.

💡 The hybrid disc‑plus‑download approach forces collectors to confront a future where ownership depends on online access, testing the durability of physical nostalgia in an increasingly digital market.

PlayStation Bringing Back Adventure Games Not Seen Since PS3 – Report

Sony is reportedly reviving dormant PlayStation adventure platform franchises that have not seen new entries since the PS3 era, with the Ape Escape series highlighted as a primary candidate. The original titles, created by the now‑defunct Japan Studio, launched in 1999 and most recently appeared as PlayStation Move Ape Escape on the PS3 in 2010. Insider “NatetheHate” confirmed that Sony plans to bring back these series, but clarified that Team Asobi will not develop the new installment and that Bandai Namco is unlikely to be involved. While development details remain vague, the report suggests multiple projects are in the pipeline. In the meantime, PS5 and PS4 users can access Ape Escape classics via PS Plus Premium or purchase them individually from the PlayStation Store.

💡 Reviving a beloved, long‑dormant franchise could re‑energize Sony’s exclusive lineup and attract nostalgic gamers to the current console ecosystem.
