Will Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pixel 12 mark the end of the…

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to launch at $1,500, a $100 increase over the S26 Ultra, while Google’s next‑generation Pixel 12 may see a similar price jump, pushing flagship models toward the $2,000 range. The article highlights rising component costs, especially RAM, and notes that Motorola’s return to the U.S. flagship market could be hampered by high pricing. Consumers face a growing divide: keep older devices or shift to mid‑range models as premium phones become less affordable.

💡 The steep price climb threatens to shrink the high‑end smartphone market, forcing brands to rethink feature‑pricing strategies and potentially accelerating the shift toward more affordable, mid‑tier devices.

OPPO’s next ultimate camera phone may give MediaTek a shot at the…

OPPO is testing its upcoming Find X10 Ultra flagship with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, a 2 nm SoC that could replace Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in the Ultra line. A parallel Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 configuration is also in development, and leaks suggest it remains the more likely market version. The Dimensity 9600 Pro features two C2‑Ultra cores up to 4.55 GHz and six performance cores, and OPPO has already confirmed it for the Find X10 Pro Max. OPPO’s Lumo True Image Engine and custom imaging algorithms are being tuned to the MediaTek chip, indicating the company’s focus on camera processing over raw CPU power. Leaks reveal a 200 MP sensor with 1/1.12‑inch size, a 200 MP telephoto, a 50 MP 10× lens, and a 100 MP front camera.

💡 Adopting MediaTek could let OPPO prove that superior imaging can eclipse flagship chipset prestige, pressuring competitors to double‑down on camera tech.

The Galaxy S27’s charging speeds are already looking disappointing

Regulatory filings from UL Solutions in Denmark reveal that Samsung’s upcoming entry‑level flagship, the Galaxy S27, will retain the 25 W wired charging rate first introduced with the Galaxy S20 in 2020. The documents list multiple regional variants of the SM‑S952 model family, all rated at 9 V × 2.77 A, confirming a charging ceiling of roughly 25 W for the base S27, identical to the S26. Samsung appears to apply this limit across all markets, showing no move toward faster wired charging for its mainstream models. In contrast, higher‑end S27 Plus, Pro and Ultra variants may support 45 W or 60 W charging, according to earlier Chinese certification leaks. The base model’s unchanged spec highlights Samsung’s lag behind Chinese competitors offering two‑ to three‑fold faster rates, even as the device may gain efficiency from the Exynos 2700 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors.

💡 Samsung’s refusal to boost wired charging on its flagship core line underscores a widening performance gap with rivals, risking consumer perception that Samsung’s flagship value proposition is stagnating.

Samsung mercilessly mocks iPhone Duo ‘crackgate’ in Galaxy Z Fold 8 ads…

Samsung launched a series of Instagram ads directly targeting Apple’s newly released iPhone Duo, highlighting the “crackgate” issue where early adopters reported a central screen fracture linked to the hinge design. The ads feature the Galaxy Z Fold 8, with slogans such as “folding is nothing new to us” and “Switch to Galaxy Z Fold 8,” juxtaposing the iPhone’s cracked display against Samsung’s device. Posts from Samsung’s Canadian, Malaysian, Australian and Saudi accounts each mock the iPhone’s durability problems, using images of the crack, humor about “FOMO,” and a wallpaper overlay to emphasize Samsung’s confidence in its folding technology. Apple has begun replacing affected iPhone Duo units, underscoring the challenge of its first foldable launch.

💡 Samsung’s blunt campaign leverages Apple’s hardware flaw to position its own foldable as a proven, reliable alternative, intensifying the rivalry in the nascent foldable market.
