Huawei Technologies announced it will raise smartphone prices moderately to offset a $200 rise in component costs driven by a global memory shortage. The firm expects the shift toward mid‑ and high‑end phones to play to its strengths, especially its foldable [...]

Without Apple’s entry, the segment would have contracted. At the same time, Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro series has driven [...]

Google has launched a new Android‑based laptop platform called “Googlebook,” but the name clashes with its existing “Google Books” service. The naming confusion highlights a branding oversight that could confuse consumers and dilute the distinct identities of Google’s products.

Researchers from KAIST, UNIST and POSTECH have created a vertically stacked semiconductor system that integrates carbon‑nanotube transistors with a solid‑state ionogel to provide on‑chip temporal memory. When voltage is applied, mobile ions in the ionogel shift and remain displaced after the voltage is removed, creating a short‑term electrical “memory.” By varying ion concentration and ionogel thickness, the team produced fast‑responding and slow‑responding layers, then stacked them so the upper layer captures recent signals while the lower layer [...]
